I have been very fortunate (I am aware this will read oddly) to be patient of Mr Morassi. I was involved in a nasty RTC and fractured my back quite severely at T12. I had met Mr Morassi previously when I had had a rather troublesome wound infection from a different back operation under a different surgeon several years back. He operated several times back then and all was well. This time I presented with this T12 compressed fracture. Mr Morassi has a lovely gentle bedside manner that immediately puts you at ease. As a nurse myself we know we make some of the worst patients. However he explained to me simply, without jargon, clearly and at a pace that I was able to absorb the information he was giving me. He presented me with options and asked for my input. His team of Drs and clinical nurse specialist are equally as professional and knowledgeable. Although I knew some of the risks associated with complex surgery he still took his time to slowly go through them all and was prepared to answer any questions I had. And he gave me truly balanced information. I genuinely feel I had made a well informed choice and consent. Throughout my admission I was reviewed daily on rounds as normal but Mr Morassi would come along and check on all of his patients intermittently through the day and often late into the evenings. He is a very hands on surgeon in so much he prefers to review his surgical wounds himself and routinely will change and re dress them himself. It’s obvious he take great pride in his work. My particular worry was about developing another infection and not only did he listen to my anxieties but he addressed them by how he overall managed my post op wound care. In return I’ve complied with every request he’s made to me about taking it easy and wearing my brace. I am confident that my recovery will go as anticipated and if there should be any hiccups that won’t be due to Mr Morassi. His surgical skill is highly respected and I have no hesitation recommending him should you require surgery.

As a result of a spinal fracture at L1, my spinal cord became compressed and my symptoms gradually worsened. I suffered pain which was only alleviated by laying flat on my back on the bed. I also suffered unpleasant nerve sensations around my 'saddle' area. Mr Morassi took some X-rays and advised me that spinal fusion surgery was required urgently to alleviate the pressure on my spinal cord. Mr Morassi advised me of the risks of the procedure, including paralysis and loss of control of bladder and bowel function. The benefits of successful surgery included a reduction in pain, and the possibility of leading an active lifestyle, walking, swimming etc. Mr Morassi is an expert in complex spinal surgery and I felt confident that the odds of success were high. I consented to the 6 hour operation and it took place on the 15th July 2021 at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton. The operation went well and, after a week in 'recovery' I was discharged on the 23rd July.Whilst in hospital, I was seen every day by either Mr Morassi or a member of his team. I was encouraged to walk without support up and down the ward, supervised by the hospital physiotherapy team. Today, 5 weeks after the operation, I am walking pain free and am averaging approx 2.5km per day. All of my pre-op symptoms have been alleviated and I am very grateful to Mr Morassi for his expert care.

I am extremely grateful to Mr Morassi and his team for the excellent care I have received , I am very lucky to still be here . Mr Morassi is an excellent surgeon , he explains in detail what will be happening, the risks of surgery in a calm and easy to understand manner . He clearly answered any questions I had and put my mind at rest and I felt complete trust in him to carry out my surgery .

I was unfortunate to have an accident and broke my neck. I was very fortunate to be under the care of Mr. Giuseppe Lambros Morassi. The procedure to repair my broken neck, involved 2 operations, the first going through the front of my neck, followed by another one two days later going through the back of my neck. The following day, Mr. Morassi came in on his day off to check on me. Unfortunately I blacked out while I was in hospital, I fell badly and ended up breaking my back at T12. Mr. Morassi was saddened to hear that I needed another operation, again he came in on his day off to do my 3rd surgery in 8 days. Before each surgery, Mr. Morassi came to explain all the consequences that I may have after surgery, he came to see me each time after surgery. I can't believe I managed to survive a broken neck and a broken back all within a few days. I put all my ability to be walking and being alive to Mr Morissi. I was very unlucky to have 2 severe breaks in my spine, but I am so lucky to have had the magnificent surgery and care, pre and post surgery from the amazing Mr. Morassi
